A quick visit to Shanghai!

I had an almost 24 hour layover on my way to Cambodia, so decided to stay at the Westin Bund Center and explore Shanghai. From the airport, we took the Maglev Train into the city — a ‘magnetic levitation’ train — the first commercial high speed Maglev. When we took the Maglev back to the airport the next day, we hit maximum speed at 431 kilometers/hr (about 268 miles per hour.)

After we landed and checked in the hotel, we walked around the beautifully lit Bund. Across the river, we could see the Oriental Pearl Tower and and other tall sky scrapers in the Pudong new area.

The next day we explored the beautiful Yu Garden, built in 1559 and now a national monument.
