Garmisch – September 2018

After a lunch at Augustiner Keller in Munich, Mark, Lisa, Mitch, Martyne, Mike, and Peggy and I boarded the train to Garmisch — my first time there.

I stayed at the BioHotel Bavaria, which was very reasonable and charming.

Most of the others were staying in the Edelweiss which was also a place I’d recommend. Garmisch was so cute with stunning views.

That night we had a wonderful dinner at a cozy little restaurant — Bräustüberl. I couldn’t resist having Wienerschnitzel again.

The next morning, we left early for a hike through the Hollenthalklamm Gorge. After we walked up through the winding gorges and through the tunnels and waterfalls, we hiked up to the Hollenthalklammhutte for lunch. Then, we kept climbing along the mountain face until we got to the Kreuzeckbahn cable car. Over all, we hiked 14 miles and climbed over 3960 feet. Scenes from the hike:
